More Than a Game
The day was billed as one of fun, friendship, and empowerment, and it delivered on all three. Before a single ball was racked, the morning opened with a doctor’s presentation on breast health, education, and resources. Then came something truly practical: a mobile mammogram unit on site, with licensed professionals offering screenings right there at the event.
It’s a simple idea with real impact. Meet women where they already are, make the experience welcoming, and take one more barrier out of the way.
Then It Was Time to Play
At noon, the women took the table. This was a women-only tournament, with cash prizes and trophies for the top three, door prizes, raffles, food, drinks, and music filling the room. Pink shirts everywhere, a little friendly competition, and a lot of cheering for every good shot (and every not-so-good one, too).
The Power of Showing Up Together
What stayed with Sachia most was the unity. The Glass Slipper Foundation was there, along with members of the LAPD and the LA Rams, all standing alongside local players, families, and neighbors for the same cause. When organizations from such different corners of the city show up in the same room, it sends a clear message: nobody faces this alone.
Proceeds from the day support breast cancer awareness programs and local support initiatives, so every entry fee, raffle ticket, and t-shirt went right back into the community.
Why This Cause Feels Close to Home
At Oxy Performance, we see this community every week. Many of our guests have been through surgery, and some are breast cancer survivors who come to our Hermosa Beach studio as part of their recovery, post-surgery. They often tell us how much it means to have a calm, welcoming space set aside just for themselves.
We always encourage guests in recovery to talk with their care team before starting mild hyperbaric sessions, and we see our role as supporting them alongside their medical care, never in place of it. Being part of their journey is a privilege, and it’s a big reason this event meant so much to Sachia and to all of us.

Strength, Courage, Hope
The event’s tagline said it best: strength, courage, and hope. We saw all three on Saturday. Thank you to Sportsman Family Billiards, the Glass Slipper Foundation, and everyone who came out to play, cheer, volunteer, and get screened.
This October, we’re encouraging everyone in our community to do one thing for breast health: book your screening, check in on the women in your life, or support a local organization doing this work. Together, we can make a difference.
